We are partnering with FPA of Southwestern Ohio to bring you this informative session.

This session explores the ever present topic of taxes and how financial advisors are already having an impact on their clients' taxes, whether they mean to or not. Attendees will learn how their financial planning shows up on the annual tax return and where they can be proactive about having the right kind of impact on their clients' lifetime tax bills. The session will also cover recent tax law changes including how they actually showed up in practice now that we are through a full tax filing season with the Big Beautiful Bill (O3BA) in place and provide key reminders on the provisions that became effective in 2026. As always, Steven's focus is on helping advisors take action which means this session will be grounded in real world examples and have clear ties to what attendees can do with the information to turn knowledge into value for their clients.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand how financial planning shows up on the tax return whether an advisor meant to do "tax planning" or not.

  2. Explore the definition of "tax advice" and help attendees understand how to talk taxes while staying in the lines of compliance.

  3. Review key provisions of recent tax law changes including the Big Beautiful Bill and Secure 2.0

Registration will be handled through FPASWO. Here is the link to register. Please include FPA of Colorado as your Chapter during registration.
