Join us for a compelling panel discussion about Medicare, Medicaid and insurance planning, including long term care and what that means for you and your clients.
This discussion will include the role of long term care insurance, assisted living and hospice and how and when to use Medicare and Medicaid. Our panelists will share the different aspects of long term care in relation to their areas of expertise from social work to legalities. 


The Panelists:

Nicole Marshall:Denver Hospice social worker

Nicole Marshall is a Medical Social Worker who also holds a Master’s Degree in Social work. As a social worker, Nicole, provides solution focused counseling to patients and their caregivers related to grief/loss issues and problem solving around housing and care giving.  She also educates participants and caregivers about their right to make health care decisions and assists with completion of Advanced Directives as requested. Currently, Nicole works for Denver Hospice and Halcyon Hospice and Palliative Care providing support and counseling for patients. She helps families navigate the system to find resources and serves as a liaison between patients and families/caregivers and community agencies.

Michelle Gilly: Highland Capital, Long Term Care Insurance Specialist

Michelle M. Gilly, CLU®, serves as a Vice President for Highland Capital Brokerage–West in Colorado. Michelle has over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. She specializes in assisting independent and institutional advisors with strategies that provide value to their clients. Whether it is estate, retirement, or business planning, Michelle is committed to helping financial professionals achieve greater success by partnering with them to help their clients build, preserve, and distribute their wealth. In addition to her financial services background, Michelle spent eight years as a small business owner in the technology industry. This enhanced her perspective for the importance of proper planning, especially in the business market.

Rebecca Shandrick: Specialist, Elder Law

Rebecca L. Shandrick is the principal of the Law Offices of Rebecca L. Shandrick, whose offices are in the Cherry Creek area. She graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1982 and served on the board of editors of the University of Colorado Law Review as articles editor and symposium editor. Ms. Shandrick specializes in the field of elder law and special needs law and planning. She has been responsible for litigation involving changes in the Medicaid regulations for persons owning small businesses and has litigated several reported cases, including grandparents rights and testamentary capacity cases. Ms. Shandrick also practices in the areas of special needs trusts and is a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners. She is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America, Marquis Top Lawyers, and Who’s Who in Professional Women.
